Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur celebrated its 15th Annual Convocation Ceremony today at its Naya Raipur campus. The ceremony saw the graduation of 552 students across various programs, including 314 from the flagship MBA program, 230 from the Executive MBA programs, and 8 doctoral scholars. The event was graced by the External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar, who delivered the convocation address.
Addressing the convocation ceremony, Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasized that “The graduating class must count itself fortunate, because it is part of a generation destined to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat. You are the beneficiaries of a solid decade of progress and growth. You have gained from access to technology and to information that would have been inconceivable barely a generation ago. And not least, you have grown up in an era of globalization that has connected you very deeply to the rest of the world. Today, India is poised to leapfrog in its journey of development and your cohort will be amongst those that will lead this effort. Your skill sets will help steer our nation in its quest for prosperity”.
In his address, Dr. Jaishankar also added that “It must nevertheless be appreciated that the prospects of those graduating today in India are far brighter than before. In fact, there is an optimism in our society that is lacking in many other parts of the world. Now you could ask, why is that? Perhaps, because the last ten years have been much better, giving rise to the confidence that the next ten and those beyond will also be. We are after all now among the top five economies. No one can dispute that the multiple global shocks recently that have tested our resilience and that India has come through that solidly. We have managed both domestic and external challenges fairly successfully”.
In his opening address to the graduating batch, Shri Puneet Dalmia, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Raipur, said, “Class of 2026, you graduate at a moment of profound global change. We are living in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, climate transitions, digital disruption, geopolitical shifts, and rapidly changing consumer behaviour. In such a world, knowledge is important, but adaptability is critical. Strategy matters, but speed matters more. Ambition is necessary, but integrity is non-negotiable. Remain lifelong learners, lead with integrity, and create impact beyond yourself. You will not be judged by the title or salary you earn, but by the difference you make in the lives of others.”
The convocation concluded with the presentation of gold medals to top achievers, including Shivang Chhikara, Shalini Dubey, and Boban Chacko, among others. With its Phase II campus expansion already underway and a strong placement season reflecting an average package of ₹20.93 LPA, IIM Raipur continues to solidify its position as a premier destination for management excellence and a vital contributor to India’s professional landscape.
